Welcome Guests and Fellow Jaycees!
"LEADERSHIP IS ACTION, NOT POSITION."
I want to start by saying, "it is a privilege to be your 71st
President." This year we have an opportunity to do incredible things for
ourselves, our chapter and the community. Being a leader is about taking
action. It's about making things happen, not letting things happen. You
and I have the opportunity to challenge ourselves to grow beyond what we
believed we could. They say, "what you give out comes back manyfold."
Another way to phrase that is that "givers gain." When you give you get
so much back in return whether tangibly or intangibly.
Let this year be the year we become so much more than we ever expected
ourselves to become. Challenge yourselves to do the things you "thought"
you could not do. Let's enter the Year 2000 as the pacesetters for
future. The Jaycees create leaders, and you…you are a leader. -cv
